Dear Birthmother,
Hello, we would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read this letter and allowing us to introduce ourselves. Our names are Lori and James. We first met in 1992, at a small country church. Two years later, in 1994, we were married there. Each day we know more and more that God has brought us together, first as best friends and now as husband and wife.
Together, we share many of the same interests. However, our most common interest is adding to our family. We have longed for many years to have and raise children. Our love for children is matched only by our desire to have them. Your baby will have the unconditional love, security, stability, happiness and faith that he or she deserves.
We realize that the decision you have made to carry your baby full term is one that has been made with great love and sacrifice. You are obviously an incredible person! We honor you for choosing to give your baby the gift of life and the opportunity of adoption. Had Lori not been given that chance, we would not be married today. Yes, she is adopted and how happy we are for that!
Hobbies of ours include: camping, landscaping, helping our families as much as we can and especially spoiling our newborn niece. Music is a passion of mine and I enjoy listening to it, learning it and playing it as well as introducing new music to our church. Because Lori is so creative she loves to scrap book, make her own greeting cards and do various crafts.
We live in a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a large backyard and plenty of room for a swing set. There is a park and a playground within walking distance of our home and we look forward to taking our child there. Our neighborhood is very safe, has lots of kids and is a terrific place to raise children.
We share one grandmother, one sister-in-law, many aunts and uncles, plus an extended church family who are all within an hour of our home. Our immediate family includes both sets of parents and Lori and I each have a younger brother. In the summer and fall we spend several weekends camping and take short weekend trips with our families.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us and for considering us as the adoptive parents of your baby(ies). We cannot begin to understand what you must be going through right now, but we want to reassure you that we would do anything for our child(ren). Regardless of your decision, you and all expectant mothers considering this brave choice are in our thoughts and prayers. Should you choose to place your child with us, know that the trust that you put in us will forever be treasured.
May God truly bless you,
James and Lori
