Dear Birthmother,
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11
Do you feel the Lord has a plan for you? We know that He does. He’s had a plan for us, too. When Keri found out, several years ago now, that she would be unable to conceive, we struggled to find how God’s plan could make it so hard to build the family we so deeply desired. But this verse helped us both, and especially Keri, to understand how God has such an incredible perspective, and how He can give us the richest blessings even when we can’t possibly see how. No matter how hard this time seems to you, we want you to know that God loves you, and that YOU are a blessing – whether to us or to another couple; you are God’s blessing and your baby is a gift of love.
We’re a young couple deeply in love with each other and in love with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He called each of us from a young age, and while our experiences of growth and service have been in different parts of the country and different churches, we grew to be friends and then husband and wife through our shared faith. Adam has been blessed to be called as a deacon in our local church, and also serves as a teacher for the energetic high school group. Keri loves to nurture and care for the youngest children and volunteers in the nursery. Our entire family looks forward to the time we spend at our local church, whether for a weekday dinner or our Sunday worship.
The love we share in our home grows from the love that God has for us, but that doesn’t mean we’re stuffy and boring! There’s a great sense of adventure in our home, and much of it comes from the energy and creativity of our daughter. We spent months in prayer for her and were blessed when a young woman chose us to be the parents of her baby. In the same way, we’ve been praying and preparing to welcome new life into our home again, and hope and pray that the day will come soon! Even our daughter asks God to bring her a baby brother as she goes to sleep at night, and we know that our awesome God is faithful to do that – through the generosity of a birthmother like you.
Our extended family continues to be an important part of our lives, and we look forward to every opportunity we have to celebrate holidays, special days, and any days with them. They love being grandparents and are so excited to welcome another grandchild into the family – and maybe spoil them just a little bit, too.
While we hope that this letter has sparked some curiosity, and a desire to get to know us better, we hope that it doesn’t stop here. We’d love to get to know you and to offer our heartfelt support and affection through this time of your life. We want you to be encouraged and strengthened, and to know that there are many of us praying for you, and all the other women like you, who have the bravery to make such a difficult choice and to give such a generous gift.
